Present Progressive

Pon los verbos entre paréntesis en la forma correcta del Present Progressive, según sean afirmativos, interrogativos o negativos.

I  a teacher in a language school in Bath. I  married and I have two children. My brother  a doctor in a hospital in the city. He  25 and he  (not) married. We live in Bath but we  from London and every Christmas we go back to our parents' house to spend the holidays together. Last year we  in London for a week.The weather (not) good but we  happy to be together. This year, my brother (not going to) in London for Christmas because he  (going to) sightseeing in Paris with some friends. I would like  in Paris, even if for a weekend!

El Presente del verbo TO BE

En su forma afirmativa, tiene las siguientes formas “plenas” que se pueden agrupar, sobretodo en la expresión oral en: 

I am		I’m
You are		You’re
He/She/It is	Spanish	He’s/She’s/It’s	Spanish
We are		We’re
You are		You’re
They are		They’re

Las formas interrogativa y negativa del verbo to be se construyen sobre la base de la estructura afirmativa.

Para construir una pregunta, solo tenemos que invertir el orden del verbo y del sujeto.

Las formas reducidas no se utilizan para hacer preguntas con el verbo to be:

Am I
Are you
Is he/she/it	Spanish
Are we
Are you
Are they

Para construir la forma negativa, introduciremos la negación “not” en la frase afirmativa, después del verbo. Existen también unas formas reducidas que combinan el verbo con la negación:

I am not		I’m not
You are not		You aren’t
He/She/It is not	Spanish	He isn’t/She isn’t/It isn’t	Spanish
We are not		We aren’t
You are not		You aren’t
They are not		They aren’t
